I first made this in 2015 for our first-holiday meal as a newly single mom in our new home. Now it’s 2022, and it is still one of our favorite slow cooker recipes for ham. Normally we make this for Christmas or Easter dinner, but I alternate it with this -> Crock Pot Ham.

For this recipe, I decided to try out Tammilee’s Tips Crock Pot Coca-Cola Ham, which I found on Pinterest. We had our little holiday dinner this past weekend since we will be out of town for Christmas this year. Our Crock Pot Coca-Cola Ham was a flavorful and great way to make delicious ham as our main dish. the perfect centerpiece for our celebration!
Crock Pot Coca-Cola Ham Ingredients:
- Ham– I use a bone in ham when I make this. My mom has done a spiral ham, but it tends to be harder to remove from the crockpot.
- Ground Mustard
- Coca-Cola-Either canned or bottled Coca-Cola will work for this.
- Brown Sugar
You can use precooked ham, a small ham, country ham, boneless ham, spiral ham, or really any ham. There is no best ham for this recipe.
How To Make Crock Pot Coca-Cola Ham:
Spray your crockpot with a nonstick spray, or use a crockpot liner to make cleanup a breeze.
Crockpot LinersNonstick Sprays
Place ham directly in the bottom of the crockpot, and mine fit in an 8 Quart Crock-Pot. You can toss the glaze packet that came with the ham.
Rub the ham with the ground mustard while it is in the crockpot.
Sprinkle the ham with 1 cup of brown sugar. You can make a paste of brown sugar to rub the paste onto the ham.
Pour 1-2 cans of Coca-Cola over the ham and on the sides to fill the pot’s bottom.
Place the lid onto the crockpot, and if your lid doesn’t seal completely because of the top of the ham, there is a hack! Use aluminum foil to make seal the lid to the crockpot.
Cooking time on low setting for 4-6 hours. The total time will be less at a medium heat setting.
Use a meat thermometer or food thermometer to check the internal temperature. You will do this at the thickest part of the ham to ensure it is at a food-safe temperature.
We loved the flavor that Coca-Cola added to the ham; it was also very moist! Plus, it frees up oven space, and no need for a bulky roasting pan to make this! I always pick up holiday hams on markdowns at the grocery store for later in the year.
What is your favorite way to cook your holiday ham?
How To Store Leftover Ham
Remove your ham from the bone and trim any excess fat. Cut the leftover ham pieces and store them in an air-tight container. This can be in an airtight container or a zip-lock bag. You can keep the bone in leftover ham recipes or toss the bone. A ham bone can not be given to dogs; it is unsafe for dogs to chew on it as it will break and harm their digestive system.
Ham can be stored in the fridge for up to five days or frozen for up to 3 months.
