It’s no secret as a parent sometimes there are days where you just long for some adult interaction! I am blessed that I have friends that can relate to and that are also work at home moms. There are days when I go without interacting with another adult at all, so it’s great to be able to pick up the phone and know another friend gets why you are calling just to say hi. Having a girls night in whether you work at home, work outside the home, or are a stay at home mom is important, socializing even as an adult can help our mental health.
Now with being a single mom, it’s even harder for me to be able to get out when other moms can. One thing that has been a sanity saver for me is to host a moms night in at my place instead of trying to get out to other mom houses. It works out great we coordinate bedtime and schedules to where it works for us, thankfully my kids are older and will stay in bed so it’s a great set up.
Now one thing I love is to make finding ways to make life quick and easy. What parent doesn’t love to save time and get things done in one stop! One of my favorite stores to go do this at is my Fred Meyers. I love that they have so much in their store, and a new part of Fred Meyer that my girlfriend introduced me to is the Sushi bar by the meat department! I have always felt lost when going to sushi restaurants so she texted me a list of what to sushi we should have, picked up some Diet Coke and it was girls night on! Plus you can pick-up an in-store coupon to save $1 when you purchase sushi and smartwater 1L or Diet Coke® 20oz. This is while supplies last so be sure to hurry!
Now, this night in was just me and my girlfriend Jenn but it was much needed. Both of use are watching what we eat and trying to make better options. I have always had a love for Diet Coke and Jenn is a water fanatic so smartwater is the perfect for her to pair up with our sushi choices. We picked up 3 different items for our sushi girls night in and they were all amazing!
Ideas For A Girls Night In:
Recipe Swap- Both Jenn and I live a frugal live a frugal lifestyle and try to cook for our kids on a budget. Our kids have similar pickiness and taste in food, so we will it’s not a surprise when we get together we talk about what new recipes we tried that our kids loved. It’s typical of any group of moms that get together it seems.
DIY/Craft Project- This is a fun thing to do with a group of girls. It often lowers the cost of the supplies and leads to some fun conversation as well. I can be crafting challenged sometimes it always helps my confidence to have someone else there to help me out.
Clothing Swap- With life comes changes in size good and bad for us as mom and our kids together. Doing a clothing swap is a great way to get a big group of moms together for a girls night in.
Workout- Working out at home can be hard to do and boring to do alone as well. One way to try out new workout DVDs is to have ladies bring their favorite and try it out. Great way to try a new workout!!
Game Night- Just getting together and playing a game that isn’t a kids game can be a lot of fun. I know dice and card games are fun since they don’t require too much thought it’s easy to have conversation rolling at the same time
Head on over-> here to see what else pairs perfectly with Diet Coke!! What do you do for a girls night in?
