Isn’t it funny how hard we can work at our goals and achieve them and then just let it all slip away! It’s not that we want to go back to eating unhealthy but let’s face it both you and I know what happens. Food tastes good, life happens, we have things come up that we start to miss the gym, and drive-thrus are easy to just go pick up instead of cooking dinner. Thank you to Premier Protein for sponsoring this post.
Can you relate?? I now for me it’s been 2 years of trying to get back on track and staying that way. I seem to get in a good groove and then bam I start to slip again. But you know what every restart I have learned something from my slip up, and part of life is growing as a human is learning from mistakes right? Now coming back from a slip-up or set back has to start with you realizing what that you have slipped up!! Now there are a lot of ways you can realize you have had a setback!
The Set Back Indicators:
- Your jeans don’t fit right
- Feeling sluggish
- Stress levels up
- No energy
Now you may remember that I have learned from every time I have had a slip back I learned something!! It may sound crazy but subconsciously we still retain what we learned from the times we have been successful at eating healthy before. The hardest part is digging back down into those once daily habits.
Ways To Restart Healthy Eating Habits:
Rediscover Your Why- This may seem easy but let’s face it, if the why is because you want to loose a pant size or look good in a swimsuit, you aren’t going to make it very far. Let me share my why with you, my own why. I am a single mom of three kids, what will happen to them if I don’t take care of myself. I have been using this as to reign in and redirect whenever I find myself veer off course.
Grocery Shop Often-I have found that it is so much easier if you keep a bunch of fresh food on hand it is easier to stay on track! I know if I don’t have the fresh ingredients on hand I tend to deviate to things that are unhealthy or fast food for convenience. Seriously if it’s on hand you will be less likely to go for another option.
Plan Ahead- 95% of the time that I fall off of the routine of eating healthy is that I begin to not plan ahead meals, snacks, and activities. Taking charge of what you can control in your life makes all the world of difference, plus be sure to always have a backup plan.
Now, remember how I said that each time you have a setback you learn something to keep taking with you. Well, one of my favorite ways to stay on track or partially on track is Premier Protein. These shakes are self-stable and ready to go, plus if you are on Weight Watchers they are only 2 Smart Points! They make the perfect breakfast for me with 30 grams of protein, and 130 calories, and one gram of sugar it’s a great way to start the day or hold myself over until the next meal. Plus there are five amazing flavors as well my favorite Chocolate as well as Vanilla, Strawberries & Cream, Caramel, and Bananas & Cream. Plus now you can check Target to find not only the four packs but also the 12 packs of the shakes at Target!
