It’s one of our favorite ways to give back to the kid’s school, Box Tops for Education! Ever since Kylie started Kindergarten Box Tops have become something all the kids hunt for when we go grocery shopping and we are picking out our groceries. It has become a game with the kids on who can find the most and collect the most in our house. The DIY Mason Jar Box Tops Holder is the perfect way to store our Box Tops!!
Walmart is our go-to for shopping, it has everything I need and great prices! Plus I love that they have the bigger family packages so I can get a great deal on bigger packages!! This last time we were there we picked up Honey Nut Cheerios™, Yoplait® Original Fridge Pack with Strawberry and Peach, Mott’s Medleys® Fruit Snacks, Nature Valley™ Oats N Honey Granola Bars, and Old El Paso™ Taco Dinner Kit. These are all staples in our house so it was even better we could get another $5 for the school too!
I love finding ways to contribute more to the kid’s school. Did you know that there is a New Box Tops Bonus App!! You can download the app on iTunes-> here or Google Play -> here. Right now there is a special offer if you buy 5 items you can earn $5 that goes directly to the school of your choice! My receipt and $5 was approved within five minutes on the app. There was a lot of bonus offers on the app so I can’t wait to earn more!! (see more about the Walmart bonus -> here)
How is that? It didn’t take me long at all to find the five products, plus we had bonus box tops too on the Honey Nut Cheerios!! It was a great way to find more Box Tops to throw in the container as well.
DIY Mason Jar Box Tops Holder Supplies:
- Spray paint or acrylic paint
- 1 Mason jar
- Sharpies or other ways to decorate
- Parmesan cheese lid or regular mason jar lid
DIY Mason Jar Box Tops Holder Directions:
Pick out the jar you want and find a lid for it. The parmesan cheese lid worked perfect for us, you could decorate a normal mason jar lid too
Now paint your jar! I opted to take it outside and spray paint it
Allow the paint to dry and reapply more coats if necessary, I did four layers to get the coating and color I wanted
Once the final coat has dried attach on your lid, I love that the mouth of this one is big to allow Box Tops to be put in
Next up is the fun part starts, the decorating! I let Bella do the decorating with permanent markers, but you could use other paint or even stickers to decorate
Now to fill up the jar with your Box Tops!!!
Head on over -> here to see more details on the bonus offer at Walmart for Box Tops!!! Plus don’t forget to download the free Box Tops Bonus App!! (Grab it on iTunes -> here and Playstore -> here) How does your family make collecting Box Tops fun?
